Ask a Doula Workshop

Starting Thursday, August 22nd, BenefitBump will be kicking off our ‘Ask a Doula’ workshop series. Over several months, we will be covering all things doula support to ensure you feel confident and comfortable as you prepare to welcome your little one. Workshop dates are Thursdays at 11:00 am CST/Noon EST. While you are not required to join every session and each will be recorded, full attendance is encouraged. We also encourage all members of the family to join - birthing parents, partners, spouses, and anyone who will be supporting you on the day of delivery.

Workshop Sessions

  • August 22nd - Birth Doula 101 Recording (Click Here): What is a doula? How do you find one and ensure they are the right fit? How much will a doula cost? During this session, we cover any questions you may have as you think about having a doula as part of your birth experience.

  • September 26th - Doula Support for Birth Partners Recording (Click Here): It takes a village and we want to ensure your village feels prepared. During this session, we cover topics like how to help your partner/spouse prepare their hospital bag, what a birth partner should expect during delivery, and how they can work together with a doula to ensure mom has to support she needs on her delivery day.

  • October 24th - Doula Support to Navigate the Unexpected During Labor/Delivery Recording (Click Here): As the saying goes, hope for the best, plan for the worst. While we hope your birth experience will be smooth, we want to ensure you and your partner/spouse are prepared in case it isn’t. We will discuss things like how to have birth plan flexibility, readying your emergency contacts, and what happens if you need a c-section. And most importantly, how your doula can support you as you prepare for the unexpected.

  • November 21st - Doula Support to Enhance Postpartum Wellness: Did you know that doula does not end after you welcome your child? In the final session of our series, we will discuss how doulas can support your emotional and physical recovery, how to find postpartum doulas, and how to prepare for your first days and weeks with a newborn.
